SMS Phishing Scam - Alert for CU Members

“We've been made aware of a scam text, purporting to be from 'Credit Union', claiming that accounts have been 'placed on hold' and asking the recipient to click a link (to a cloned credit union website) to verify their account.

Our credit union is for people, not for profit!

We are a financial co-operative that provides savings and loan facilities for the benefit of our members.

As a co-operative, we are owned and controlled by our members, each of whom has one vote (once aged 16 or over) - regardless of how much or how little they have saved.

Opening An Account?

To become a credit union member you need to call into our office where a member of staff will help you complete the application form remember to bring along the following documents:

  1. Photo ID - Passport or Drivers Licence
  2. Proof of Address (must be dated within the last 3 months) - Utility Bill or Bank Statement

Membership is restricted to those living within our common bond of 4 miles.

Please note Junior applications can only be opened by a parent/guardian and require a copy to be taken of the junior’s birth certificate/passport and signing parent/guardians proof of address.

Our Credit Union lets people in the community come together to save and borrow money at low rates, and is operated on a not-for-profit basis, with surpluses being returned to members.
